Merdja Zerga is a huge wasteland area surrounded by dwarf palms and giant agaves. The habitat ensures bird watching all year round. There are large numbers of waders, coots, flamingoes, ringed plovers, black-winged stilts and black tailed godwits.

The cedar forest, south of Azrou in Morocco is a unique habitat. It is a lush forested tract of land around the Middle Atlas range. Cedar forest shelters many troupes of Barbary apes which are one of the wildlife highlights in Morocco. They can usually be found feeding along the forest margins.

High Atlas has unique fauna and flora and can be accessed easily by hiking the mountain trails. With base camps at Oukaimeden, Imlil or Ouirgane, you can easily climb these mountains. You can find here harmless creatures – butterflies that include the Moroccan Copper and Desert Orange Tip.
